Playing GW. It’s on Saturday, and I’m not confident about my choice. I’ll be putting up the decklist tonight.

So I applied to judge Grand Prix Chicago (Modern). Third GP I’ve applied to, hopefully I’ll be accepted this time. I’m REALLY excited for this event, GPs are awesome.

I’d totally play UB Faeries in Modern, but they done banned my Bitterblossoms. So Mono-U it is for me. Needs some mutavaults though…
I work at a game shop (as you may already know) and I keep my key for the shop on the same keyring as my van’s key’s. My van broke (break line rusted through) and I haven’t been driving it, so I haven’t had my shop key with me. I keep forgetting to grab the keys. So to fix the problem, I pulled the key off of the van’s ring and I wanted to get it its own keyring.
I couldn’t find any cool keychains around the house and it seemed silly to go out to buy one, so I found some Shrink film stuff, the kind you draw on with sharpies (Or in this case it said I could use Acrylic paints) and then bake, and it sets what you draw and shrinks to a solid little piece of plastic. So in a blatant declaration of my color allegiance, I made this little tag for my key. :3 It’s pretty cool, the edges are see-through and it taps for a blue and a black if I pay 1. Who doesn’t like mana acceleration?
I’m thinking of doing a few more for friends! It’s a quick and easy craft and it was oodles of fun, not to mention they look pretty good.
(Yes I drive a van at the age of 22. It’s like a rolling house. It’s the crappiest car we have, so of course I learned to drive on it and now I take it all over. I also have a ‘Vette, so it’s okay.)

Making Modern Legal UB Rogue Tribal
For casual fun, I guess haha.
I’m having such a hard time wrapping my head around this deck even though it combines two of my great loves: Frogtosser Banneret and Notorious Throng <3 :D
It has these rogues:
- Prickly Boggart
- Frogtosser banneret
- Invisible Stalker
- Stinkdrinker Bandit
- Earwig Squad
And then some cool goodies like
- Swords
- Cloak & Dagger
I think, If my quick head math is correct, you could, on turn 3, play: 2 cloak and daggers, and an invisible stalker. Meaning you’d have a 5/1 stalker to hit with next turn. JUST FOR FUN. Although shroud would mean I couldn’t equip it with a sword later :[ . But that would still be fun! Or play a stinkdrinker bandit to give it an additional +2/+1? And then hey, turn 5 or 6, play Notorious throng, and I mean you should win…
It’s just lacking you know, any sort of removal or disruption for my opponents game plan haha. Suggestions?! Again it’s a casual deck, so no need to bother with tearing it apart to thoroughly or considering the metagame too much haha.
